Pokey LaFarge Photo Shoot and New Web Site

Over the summer some time, Pokey LaFarge called me from the road to ask if I could shoot some¬† new promo photos of him and his band in August. Of course I said yes, because I’ve been a fan of Pokey’s ever since I interviewed him for the first time a couple of years ago. We ended up getting together at his house to take some shots. I set up lights and took some inside and then we went outside and took some shots in the street.

The area near his apartment building was kind of a perfect setting for Pokey. It’s near the old Lemp Brewery, a kind of ancient sleeping giant of a place that was once one of the great breweries of the world. It takes up several square blocks on the southside of St. Louis not far from where it’s one time rival Anheuser Busch¬†still chugs away. Also near by are the Lemp and Chatillon-DeMenil Mansion. Both are also relics of St. Louis’ past.

Anyway we took to these historic streets and got some more great shots in. Here they are in all their glory. I just thought I’d share:

During the shoot Pokey asked if I could help him out with his web site, I said I could and here is the result of that. It’s not completely finished yet but it’s mostly there. I am currently using a theme created by someone else that I’ll update and customize later. The important thing is that he now has control over his web presence that’s also a hub for all things Pokey online.
